The REACh Regulation on theRegistration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals, which came into force on 1 June 2007, is intended to ensure the protection of human health and minimise risks to the environment. Authorities decide on possible bans and restrictions on the use of chemicals. In particular, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) publishes an updated list of substances of very high concern (REACh-SVHC) every six months, the use of which is subject to additional requirements.
