Hazardous, Made Simple - Hazardous Substance Management with SAP
The Regulation on the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACh), which came into force on June 1, 2007, is intended to ensure the protection of human health and minimize the risk to the environment. Authorities decide on possible bans and restrictions on the use of chemicals. In particular, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) publishes a semi-annual updated list of substances of very high concern (REACh-SVHC), the use of which is subject to additional requirements. Both manufacturers and downstream users are legally obligated to comply with these guidelines and must register and provide evidence of the substances used.
The SAP module EHS(M) (Environment, Health & Safety) is a modern solution to comply with these directives and offers extensive functions in the area of health and safety at work. Users are supported consistently in the management of master data. This is especially with regard to safety regulations, the adaptation of goods receipt and goods issue processes, and the fulfilment of requirements regarding hazardous substances and goods in storage and transport.

SAP EHS(M) is diveded into the areas
The EHSM product compliance solution ensures that company management is able to provide information about the environmental compatibility of their products and thus fulfils the legal REACh compliance requirements. By connecting the material management, products can be clearly broken down into their components and checked according to various criteria. This makes effective obsolescence management easy.
The EHS hazardous materials management solution supports the maintenance and filing of data relevant to hazardous materials and dangerous goods. It also supports the generation and filing of relevant documents such as safety data sheets, operating instructions and labels.
As One Passion, we have many years of experience in the field of "Environment, Health & Safety", espacially in the implementation of REACh and the management of hazardous substances. Both changes to existing EHS systems and new implementations of the EHS(M) module have been carried out by our team in the industrial sector. EHS(M) was implemented in SAP standard as well as with extensive customer adaptations.
Together with our partners, we offer an SAP-based solution to meet the current SCIP requirements, i.e. to send reports of REACh-relevant information to ECHA's SCIP database.
Ebenso besteht die Möglichkeit über unsere eigenentwickelte web-basierte Lösung diese Anforderungen zu erfüllen. Mit unserem SCIP Viewer & Converter können Sie auf einfachem Weg SCIP-Dossiers erstellen, bestehende Dossiers visuell aufbereitet einsehen und direkt über eine integrierte Schnittstelle in der ECHA-Datenbank speichern.

In der Verwaltung von Sicherheitsdatenblättern bieten wir Ihnen eine automatisierte Lösung, unsere SDSuite, zum Einlesen der SDB Dokumente im PDF-Format an. Die SDBs werden über unser Tool erfasst und direkt inklusive Dokumentenablage des PDFs nach diversen Prüfungen in die Stoff-Workbench im SAP-System geschrieben.
Currently, we are also devoting ourselves to the "Extended Material Safety Data Sheets" in order to be able to automatically file the exposure scenarios in the SAP system in the future.

In the management of safety data sheets, we offer an automated solution, our SDSuite, for importing the Safety data sheets (SDS) in PDF format. The SDSs are entered via our tool and written directly after various checks into the substance workbench in the SAP system, including document storage of the PDF.
